How is one Brazilian company handling racist comments sent online?

Answer: by putting them on billboards

Brazil-based Criola's "virtual racism, real consequences" campaign finds racist comments on social media and shares them with an audience in the physical world by blowing them up to billboard size.

The names and faces of the commenters are blocked out, but the company says it hopes to start debate rather than shame those who made the comments. Criola is attempting to spread its campaign to other countries in an attempt to create an "integrated perspective" and further the primary goal of the organization, which is to defend the rights of black women.

More information about the project along with photos of the billboards and their locations can be found on the project website.
