What country is getting into the autonomous vehicle space?

Answer: Canada

Canada is famous for many things: maple syrup, hockey players, Ryan Gosling. And Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is hoping to add self-driving vehicles to the list. On Dec. 19, Trudeau and BlackBerry CEO John Chen announced the formation of a research center for self-driving vehicles at the QNX headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario.

The partnership doesn’t include any federal funding, but creates an avenue where such funding could be easy to facilitate. In January, the company traditionally known for its cellphones announced it was working on software programs that would enable self-driving features.
