Wild hogs can be a serious nuisance — causing more than $1.5 billion in property damage annually in the U.S. alone. They’ve also been known to attack and occasionally even kill humans they see as a threat. But it looks like modern technology has an interesting new solution for scaring them off.
A new viral video from Poland demonstrates that robots may be the answer. The recording shows a herd of wild hogs being chased away by a humanoid robot. The Unitree G1 pursues the quickly fleeing swine through a parking lot before stopping and raising a fist at their retreating forms. The translated caption of the video says, “I’m herding the wild boars into the forest.”
This was just the latest stunt by the robot, named Edward Warchocki, who has become something of a sensation in Poland as a robo-influencer.
