One often needs multiple tools to disassemble a smartphone, at least if you’re doing it academically and not just for pure destruction. But a blowtorch is probably not on the list of things you thought you'd use.

As it turns out, a blowtorch is useful if you’re taking apart the new iPhone Air.

Apple has been marketing this iteration from its new smartphone lineup as incredibly durable, with one executive even telling an interviewer to try and break his on air. So far it has lived up to the hype, so much so that a YouTuber needed some serious firepower to destruct it. JerryRigEverything is popular for his videos in which he meticulously destructs smartphones to show what’s inside. In his latest video he tackles the Air, and at one point he has to resort to a blowtorch to remove a titanium exterior strip to get at some interior parts. It is quite satisfying to watch.
