If you’ve ever wondered what happens to your clothes after you toss them into the donation bin at Goodwill, here’s an idea: hide an AirTag on them. That’s what one TikTok user in Germany did, and their donated shoes ended up taking quite the trip.

User Moe.Ha hid an AirTag in a pair of sneakers before putting them in a Red Cross collection bin in Munich, Germany. They then watched the progress of the AirTag, and therefore the shoes, from their smartphone as it traveled from Germany through Austria, Slovenia and Croatia before ending up in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Once the 800-kilometer journey appeared to have ended, Moe.Ha decided to take a trip to the final destination to see if they could locate the sneakers. The shoes were found on the shelf of a secondhand store 497 miles from where they’d started, for sale for about 10 euros.
