It is believed that this is the first time this has ever been done — a couple from Aberdeen recently drove all the way from the Magnetic North Pole to the South Pole in an electric vehicle. The 18,000-plus-mile journey began in March and was just completed on Dec. 18.

The majority of the time, Chris and Julie Ramsey’s Nissan Ariya was powered by wind and solar energy. They started at the Magnetic North Pole and drove into Canada, then down through the United States and Central America before entering into South America.

This isn’t the first record the Ramseys have set with an EV. In 2017 they became the first to complete the Mongol Rally in an electric vehicle, driving the 10,000 miles from London to Mongolia.
