People want foldable smartphones, and companies are trying to give the people what they want. But to say that it’s been a bumpy road so far may be a bit of an understatement. Just ask Google.
The company launched its first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold, this week, and some of the reviews are not encouraging. While not every early adopter has reported that their foldable screen started breaking within 24 hours of receiving the device, enough have complained to warrant concern for the device overall.
Many users have been taking to Reddit to report issues like bright pink lines and dents and other imperfections on the screen after folding it just a few times. Hopefully, as was the case with Samsung’s first attempts at folding smartphones, these issues will improve with time as Google perfects the technology. But for now, you might want to have a backup device just in case.
