Apple wants you to know that it takes your privacy very seriously. Some app developers, on the other hand, do not. Data from the tech giant’s annual reports on fraud prevention in the App Store reveals that the company has rejected 958,000 apps in the last two years due to privacy violations.

In 2020, the number of apps that got the boot was 215,000, according to Atlas VPN. But last year that number nearly doubled to 400,000. Apple’s regulations to ensure user privacy in apps include app review guidelines, privacy labels and app tracking transparency features.

Atlas VPN also found that since 2020, Apple has prevented $5.09 billion in fraudulent transactions through the App Store. It also terminated 1.7 million developer accounts for fraud, and rejected 460,000 apps for being misleading, copycats or spam.
