Unless you’ve somehow managed to completely avoid the entertainment news cycle in its entirety this month, you probably heard about Warner Bros. Discovery’s controversial decision to cancel its Batgirl movie. Many were understandably dismayed that they wouldn’t get to see the film, which was reportedly 90 percent complete at the time.
However, surely no one was more disappointed than the people who made the movie. But Warner Bros. Discovery is sort of throwing them a bone (albeit a half-eaten one) by hosting some secret screenings, aptly dubbed “funeral screenings,” of the movie on its lot in Burbank, Calif., this week. These funeral screenings are by invitation only for “select insiders” consisting of the cast and crew and representatives and executives.
