Is there an interactive map where you can see the data centers around you?

Answer: Yes!

Data centers are being built around the country at a rapid clip, and it’s hard for people to keep up. Out of a desire to help people be more informed, Oregon resident Isabelle Reksopuro built an interactive map that consolidates all the data center-related information into one location.

Called Track Policy, Reksopuro’s tool was inspired by datacenterbans.com, but she wanted to take it further. While that tool focuses mainly on established moratoriums against data centers, Track Policy also shows things like incentives and disclosure rules. It’s a one-stop shop for all things data center policy.

“Track Policy isn’t trying to take a side on whether any particular bill is good,” Reksopuro wrote on the tool’s About page. “It’s trying to show you what’s actually being proposed, what stage it’s at, and what it would do if it passed, so the people affected can make up their own minds with the real information in front of them.”
