Who has created a Spiderman-like robot that can scale walls?

Answer: Disney Research Zürich and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich

A new robot called VertiGo can transition from walking on the ground to scaling up a wall, according to Disney Research, whose lab in Zürich -- along with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETH) -- created the robot.

VertiGo's two propellers tilt and provide thrust onto the wall, allowing the robot to traverse over indentations such as masonry. Using two propellers rather than one is what makes a floor-to-wall transition possible – thrust is applied both toward the wall using the rear propeller, and in an upward direction using the front propeller, resulting in a flip onto the wall.
