Dutch trains are now entirely powered by what renewable resource?
Answer: wind
Calling it a world first, the Dutch national railway company NS said that all its trains — which make about 5,500 trips per day — are now 100 percent powered by wind energy. The original goal was for all Dutch trains to be powered by electricity generated from wind energy by January 2018, but as reported by Phys.org, an increase in wind farms off the coast of the Netherlands and across the country led to the goal being reached a year ahead of schedule.
