What technology did Google just buy from Twitter?
Answer: a software toolkit for mobile apps
Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company, bought a Twitter company, called Fabric, that provides a software toolkit for mobile apps. The Chicago Tribune reported Jan. 18 that the acquisition will help Google recruit mobile developers to its cloud computing service. Twitter employees working on Fabric will move to Google, and the deal also included Crashlytics, Twitter’s tool for tracking software failures. The financial terms and number of employees making the move were not disclosed.
