How is the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office in Minnesota helping its community?

Answer: by handing out healthy food

Patrol vehicles are loaded with boxes filled with granola bars, canned vegetables and other healthy foods to provide needy citizens with something they can use to improve their lifestyles. The program is made possible by a nonprofit called Matter, which aims to distribute goods to places that need it most. The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated last year that about 10 percent of Minnesota residents don’t know where their next meal will come from.
