Boston Dynamics’ Spot robot dog may have just found a burgeoning new career as an artist. One of the units recently painted a number of abstracts to auction off to support relief efforts for the war in Ukraine.
The Spot robot created its masterpieces in the studio of Agnieszka Pilat, a Polish American artist based in New York. The robot painted by marching on a canvas laid out on the floor, using its feet as paintbrushes. The pieces were then sold at auction and the proceeds were donated to the Polish Dominican Friars, a foundation providing aid to Ukrainian refugees.
One piece, called “Sunrise March,” ended up selling for $40,000. You can watch how Spot painted this masterpiece here.
