Raccoons are no longer content to simply make a mess of our trash. One of these trash pandas was reportedly responsible for almost 7,000 people losing power on Thursday in downtown Toronto.

According to the local power utility, Hydro One, a raccoon “made contact with equipment” in a power station downtown and caused the outage. A key subway line was also affected, people got stuck in elevators and the water was shut off. It took about three hours for power to be fully restored.

The fate of the raccoon is still unknown.
