What percent of U.S. web users report using a generative AI tool?
Answer: Nearly 40 percent.
Considering that generative AI tools like the wildly popular ChatGPT have only been available for less than a year, it’s telling that almost half of U.S. users of the world wide web have used one at least once. In a recent survey by OnePulse, on behalf of TechRadar Pro, 39 percent of U.S. and U.K. respondents said they have used a generative AI tool at least once.
Specifically, a whopping 27 percent said that tool was ChatGPT, while the remaining 12 percent named another similar tool such as Dall-E or Replika. This popularity, though, doesn’t seem to have people fearing for their jobs just yet. A slim majority of respondents answered with a definitive “no” when asked, “Do you think that generative AI will replace your job?” However, 5.5 percent are much more fearful, answering that they believed AI would make their job redundant in the next year or so.
