Kiss has found a way to keep performing despite the band’s aging membership. Bandmates Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer have a combined age of 273, with Simmons the oldest at 74, making performing more and more difficult. Fortunately, technology has a solution.
During the encore of their final in-person concert at Madison Square Garden this past weekend, the band debuted digital avatars that will continue to perform in their stead. The avatars were created in partnership with Industrial Light & Magic, George Lucas’ special effects company, and Pophouse Entertainment Group.
“What we’ve accomplished has been amazing, but it’s not enough. The band deserves to live on because the band is bigger than we are. It’s exciting for us to go the next step and see Kiss immortalized,” said Kiss frontman Stanley.
