Clicks Technology wants to be the one to bring a physical keyboard back to smartphones. Apple’s iPhone paved the way for mobile phones to transition from physical to digital keyboards, but if you’ve always wished yours had physical keys (or just wondered what it would be like) you’re in luck.
Slated to make its debut at CES 2024 this month, the Clicks keyboard case for iPhone is Clicks Technology’s inaugural product. The banana-yellow case adds a small physical keyboard to the bottom of the iPhone, and its appearance is reminiscent of the popular BlackBerry mobile phone keyboard. It’s backlit for use in dark environments and uses the phone’s battery to power it.
“We labored over every decision from exactly how the buttons should feel to the keyboard layout, ensuring it would be intuitive for iPhone users,” said Clicks Technology co-founder Kevin Michaluk. The Clicks Technology team consists of members with experience in mobile technology from major companies like Apple, Google and BlackBerry.
