What vehicle maker will soon allow you to conduct in-car Zoom calls?

Answer: If you didn’t guess Tesla, you clearly haven’t been here very long.

It should surprise absolutely no one who has been in this space for any length of time that Zoom is coming to Tesla vehicles.

The announcement came earlier this week at the Zoomtopia 2022 event. Made by Zoom Group Product Manager Nitasha Walia, the reveal was accompanied by a quick video showing the feature in action in a Tesla Model Y. Users will be able to conduct both voice-only and video calls without requiring the use of a mobile device.

Although the announcement did not specify, this likely means that Zoom will use the in-car camera in all Tesla vehicles above the rearview mirror when the user is on a video call. Also not specified was whether the feature will work while the vehicle is in motion, although Tesla has typically made this standard procedure with other app integrations in the past, so it could be the same here. An official release date was also not announced.
