And just west is the beach cam of Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill with a view of Clearwater Beach. There’s also the live webcam for Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, home to some of the state’s manatees who often make an appearance on the camera.

Hurricane Idalia is headed for Florida’s Gulf Coast, where it is expectedto make landfall Wednesday morning. If you’re wondering what it will be like on the ground when that happens, there are a number of live webcams in the area.

Idalia recently strengthened from a tropical storm into a hurricane. It is expected to experience a drop in wind shear and will pass over very warm ocean water on its way toward land, two factors that create the perfect storm (pun intended) for rapid intensification. The National Hurricane Center is forecasting that it will rapidly intensify to major hurricane status (Category 3) before it makes landfall.
