The whole thing came to light when someone posted a video on Twitter (now X) of a Cybertruck they passed on the freeway that was covered with what looked like dents from bullets on the outside of the driver’s door. Musk then confirmed on X that the company had indeed “emptied the entire drum magazine of a Tommy gun into the driver door Al Capone style” to test the door’s durability.
The CEO stated that “no bullets penetrated into the passenger compartment” during the test. Not everyone is impressed with this result, though. The Tommy gun fires the slower, heavier .45 caliber bullet, which isn't exactly known for its penetration power.
