The famous James Bond franchise now has a new future with Amazon. Amazon MGM Studios recently inked a deal with the longtime stewards of 007, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, for “creative control” of the franchise. “We are honored to continue this treasured heritage, and look forward to ushering in the next phase of the legendary 007 for audiences around the world,” said Mike Hopkins, head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios.

This means that Amazon can now produce new James Bond content, not only in the form of feature-length films but also for TV shows on Amazon Prime. The last new installment in the Bond franchise was No Time to Die in 2021. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos wasted no time in signaling that the ideas are already flowing over at Amazon. Within hours of the deal’s announcement, he posted on X seeking casting advice, asking the general populace, “Who’d you pick as the next Bond?”
