Luxury brand Hermès is developing a pair of headphones, and they won’t come cheap. Like, not even remotely. Details are still light on the ground, but we do know that they’ll cost $15,000, so it’s safe to assume the specifications will be impressive.
While this isn’t Hermès’ first foray into audio — there’s been a boom box, a jukebox and a cubic speaker — these will be its first headphones. They’re being developed in the brand’s Ateliers Horizons workshop in Paris, which is collaborating with some unnamed manufacturing partners to develop the actual audio component.
The headphones will have wireless and wired capabilities with a “Hermès sound.” They’ll be encased in hand-stitched cowhide leather in a variety of colors. The headphones are currently expected to launch this summer.
