Why is the Internet mad at Spotify?

Answer: Because it wants to be TikTok.

It’s no secret that the Internet loves something to be mad about. So it should come as no surprise that today, the Internet got mad about something.

This time it’s Spotify, the wildly popular music app that, other than when it comes to getting artists the money they deserve, people honestly love. But you know what else people love? TikTok. And Spotify is apparently jealous, and released a new app design in which the home feed contains short videos that cover the entire screen.

It should also come as no surprise that the people who don’t like this, which is a lot, immediately took to Twitter to make their frustrations known. “Not everything should be TikTok. Spotify was fine as-is…,” said one user, while another chimed in with “Oh no. No no no. There’s *zero* need to turn Spotify into a TikTok-like experience.”

Don’t worry, Spotify, the Internet will find something else to be mad about tomorrow.
