AIIM Announces Certification Program For Electronic Records Management

The program examines records management in relation to the business needs of all types of organizations both in the public and private sector, embracing all records but with a particular emphasis on electronic records

AIIM - The Enterprise Content Management Association launched a new certificate program for electronic records management.

The new Electronic Records Management (ERM) Certificate Program is designed from global best practices among AIIM's 50,000 members. The program examines records management in relation to the business needs of all types of organizations both in the public and private sector, embracing all records but with a particular emphasis on electronic records.

"We are in a time where every organization, large or small, must have control over its electronic information" states John Mancini, President of AIIM. "Legal ramifications, time inefficiencies, and unnecessary spending are all consequences of uncontrolled electronic information. Not having an Electronic Records Management (ERM) system simply isn't an option."

The ERM Certificate Program is designed for end-users, suppliers, and the channel. Three levels of certificates will be awarded -- Practitioner, Specialist, and Master -- to recognize accomplishment of course objectives. Programs are available exclusively as onsite training classes while others may be taken online.
  • The ERM Strategy workshop ("Why ERM?"), 1 day executive awareness workshop

  • The ERM Practitioner program ("What is ERM?"), 17 online modules or 2 day training class

  • The ERM Specialist program ("How to implement ERM?"), 12 online modules or 2 day training class

  • The ERM Master program ("Putting it all together"), 4 day training class
Business managers, IT managers, compliance officers, archivists, librarians, risk managers, records managers, as well as solution providers, sales consultants, project managers, and technical staff can benefit from the program.

Details on the Electronic Records Management Certificate Program can be found online.
