This award is part of Belknap County's expansion of the mobile data solution to address recommendations from the Department of Homeland Security to share criminal information regionally and across agencies.

The Sheriff's department provides the ten towns in Belknap County, N.H. with regionalized connectivity and mobile access to criminal data using BIO-key's PacketCluster Patrol software. The addition of handheld devices will allow detectives and other plainclothes officer's access to the same secure, silent and reliable communication and criminal justice information as their 'in-vehicle' colleagues. The addition of the fingerprint biometric login capability will increase the security of the regional network while simplifying system administration. With the new solution, officers will simply place their finger onto a fingerprint reader to log into their computers and access information. This biometric authentication solution includes products for network log-on and SSO (single sign on) from BIO-key partners SAFLINK and Passlogix.
