The latest study by the
Radicati Group Inc., "E-mail Anti-Phishing and Anti-Fraud Market Trends 2004-2008," provides market size, market share, four-year forecasts, technology trends, key solutions, and competitive information for the emerging e-mail anti-phishing and anti-fraud software market.
As online consumers become more educated, phishers have had to become increasingly more sophisticated. "If corporations and consumers do not implement some form of protection against e-mail phishing and Internet fraud attacks, e-mail phishers will continue to tarnish the reputation of organizations both on and offline while simultaneously ruining consumer trust in the Internet and eCommerce," said Sara Radicati, President & CEO of the Radicati Group Inc.
According to the study, the number of unique phishing attacks worldwide will grow an astonishing 115% from an average of 51 unique attacks per month in 2004, to 110 unique attacks per month by 2008.
Despite increasing concerns over online security, the e-mail anti-phishing market is still in its infancy. This study divides the market into two segments: E-mail Anti-Phishing solutions which protect consumers from divulging personal information to criminals, and Anti-Fraud solutions which protect an organization's brand, trademark and Web site from fraud. The total market for both segments is expected to top $202 million in 2004, growing to over $880 million by 2008.
