Florida CIO Bahrami Participates in Federal Information Security Roundtable

Florida, Michigan and New Jersey discuss crisis preparedness

Florida CIO Kimberly Bahrami participated yesterday in an information security roundtable with technology leaders for the states of Michigan and New Jersey. Held at the Federal Chief Technology Officers Summit and sponsored by the Executive Office of the President and the Defense Information Systems Agency, this roundtable provided a necessary discussion regarding crisis preparedness at the local, state and federal government levels.

"It is critical that states work closely with other levels of government to ensure that information technology assets are secure and the security efforts are being coordinated," said Bahrami. "Sharing best practices across the nation is a vital component to the success of our government in the event of a crisis."

The Florida Office of Information Security, housed within the Florida State Technology Office, is responsible for conducting information security risk analysis of all state agencies and implementing cost-effective safeguards to reduce or eliminate these risks.
