Officials to Release Comprehensive Analysis of Federal Real ID Act
Analysis includes implementation costs and consequences
The National Governors Association, the National Conference of State Legislatures and the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators will hold a media briefing releasing a comprehensive analysis of the federal Real ID Act, which creates national standards for issuing state driver's licenses and identification cards. The report will set forth the consequences and costs of implementing the act and make recommendations to facilitate a more realistic and achievable approach.
