Texas Gov. Rick Perry announced the award of a $276,667 grant to Texas Department of Information Resources. The department is charged with improving technology decisions and ensuring appropriate use of information resources.

The award will offer general cyber-security support by providing testing of existing vulnerabilities and creating preparedness against possible cyber-attacks.
