Texas Gov. Rick Perry announced the award of a $276,667 grant to Texas Department of Information Resources. The department is charged with improving technology decisions and ensuring appropriate use of information resources.
"This grant will provide the Department of Information Resources with greater means to protect the state against cyber-attacks," Perry said. "Improving network security is important for safeguarding our information and resources."
The award will offer general cyber-security support by providing testing of existing vulnerabilities and creating preparedness against possible cyber-attacks.
