Cass County, Texas, Installs New Records Management System

"We were running out of space for storing paper-based books for various researchers." -- Cass County Clerk Jannis Mitchell

Cass County, Texas -- population 30,000 -- announced the completed installation of the Anthem System for the automated management of official public records including land records, marriage licenses, vital statistics, scanning of court documents and commissioners' court minutes. The county began its implementation of the new system at the end of January after signing a $202,319 contract with Austin-based Hart InterCivic.

"We are very excited to have Anthem up and running," said Jannis Mitchell, Cass County Clerk. "The Anthem System will benefit the Cass County Clerk's Office, and thus the public, a great deal. We view the introduction of Anthem as a long-term strategy for modernizing our work processes and reducing costs. We were running out of space for storing paper-based books for various researchers. Introducing imaging to our process puts records online in the research room through Anthem Public Access and empowers individuals to conduct independent and efficient research.

"Cass County has been a long-standing customer of Hart InterCivic for our printing and election needs," said Mitchell. "This partnership and Hart's proven reputation in successfully deploying this same Anthem System in other Texas counties and jurisdictions throughout the country provides us with a great deal of confidence in Hart's ability to support the Anthem System in Cass County."
