NATIONAL HARBOR, MD. — Perhaps the hardest thing for a chief information officer to modernize in state government has nothing to do with physical technology systems or software; rather, it's the people behind them that take the most effort.
As
Colorado CIO Theresa Szczurek explained in an interview with
Government Technology during the 2019 National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) midyear conference, breaking routines and long-standing habits is no easy task.
Szczurek also touched on Colorado's evolving plans for 5G technology, saying that she hopes the state and industry are able to leverage the improved network to their advantage.
