Saginaw, Mich., Streamlines City Jobs Portal

The new online portal will help streamline the application process and keep users up-to-date on job postings.

(TNS) — SAGINAW, Mich. — Applicants looking for jobs with the city now have a new website they can use that makes it easier to apply and search for jobs.

Dennis Jordan, the director of the city's human resources department, said the new portal helps streamline the application process and keep users up-to-date like other governmental agencies.

"It just brings us up to the standards today," he said, adding moving online also helps expand the market for finding better candidates. "It makes it much more simpler for users ... plus it expands the market for us."

Jordan said applicants previously needed to fill out applications online and print it off. Now, everything is automated.

The new applicant tracking system, NEOGOV, which is the nation's largest provider of cloud-based talent requisition and management software for the public sector, launched on Tuesday, Aug. 21, according to a news release sent out by the city.

Once an applicant creates a profile in the system, it can be used for other positions within the city of Saginaw and the new system will allow for electronic submissions of resumes, transcripts, certificates and other applicant-related materials.
