Canada Not Ready for Major Disasters

Commercial insurance companies worried about Canadian disaster preparedness.

At a recent meeting of insurance executives there was this summation of the current state of affairs in Canada:

"Canada is doing little to anticipate risks of extreme weather and this inaction will cost us severely when disaster eventually strikes, said Canadian insurance executives during the Globe conference on environmental business and sustainability held in Vancouver."

I have to say that I’m a little bit surprised that they were as direct in what they said and also that Canada is not further along (by their estimation) in dealing with climate adaptation. I would have thought that the anti-global warming politicians would not have the same influence as here in the United States in delaying any action to become better prepared for disasters.

The latest United Nations Report supports the concerns of the commercial insurers. Of course, if you believe that the United Nations is part of a great conspiracy to take over the United States electrical grid—you would not trust them and what they have to say about anything.
