Phoenix selects wireless radios for city communications

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The city of Phoenix, Arizona has selected EFJohnson Company to provide 800 MHZ software programmable 5100 series portable and 5300 series mobile radios. EFJohnson is one of three companies included in this award, which has an initial term of two years with an option for three additional years and a total value of $45.6 million.

EFJohnson provides digital Project 25-compliant interoperable wireless communications systems solutions for federal, state and local agencies involved with homeland security and public safety. EFJohnson was an early developer of wireless communications products fully compliant with federal government interoperability specifications. The company designs, manufactures and markets conventional and trunked radio systems, land mobile radio repeaters and mobile and portable radios.
