Administrative Office of U.S. Courts Selects Nortel Government Solutions

Agreement includes support for wireless messaging, collaboration services.

Nortel Government Solutions will provide the Administrative Office of the United States Courts (AO) with support and training for messaging and collaboration services under a new agreement announced today.This base year agreement with three optional periods includes help desk, technical support, training, documentation, research, planning, design and quality assurance services for IBM Lotus Notes and IBM Domino messaging and collaboration and BlackBerry wireless e-mail devices and servers in Washington and San Antonio, Texas.

The AO is the administrative support agency for the Judicial Branch of the U.S. Federal Government, providing administrative, financial, program and IT services to federal courts.

"The services and support we provide to the AO help to promote the secure and efficient information flow critical to an effective judicial system," said Chuck Saffell, chief executive officer, Nortel Government Solutions.

Nortel Government Solutions, a U.S. company wholly owned by Nortel, has provided IT support services to the AO since 1993. This includes support for implementation of a case management and electronic case filing system that provides secure electronic filing over the Internet for Federal appellate, district and bankruptcy courts.
