"The Intermec CN3 delivers functionality and ease of operation in a rugged PDA form factor to our customers using the largest national high-speed wireless data network in the U.S.," said Laura Johnson, senior director, enterprise solutions, for AT&T's wireless unit. "The device is a strong choice for our customers in the transportation and logistics, field service and consumer packaged goods industries where a compact, rugged device is a must. Customers can leverage the built-in GPS capabilities of the CN3 with AT&T's TeleNav Navigator and Track applications to provide turn by turn directions and mobile resource management to track assets in the field."
"The addition of the Intermec/Cheetah bundle provides our transportation and logistics users with maximum supply chain visibility of freight and merchandise in-transit," said Cheetah vice president of sales and marketing, Stephan Karczag. "This real-time information allows companies to dynamically deploy the right assets to the right location, track shipments and consolidate personnel and manage resources to optimize operational efficiency."
"Having the ability to capture and communicate real-time information about drivers and assets is a top priority for transportation and logistics companies," said Adrian Gonzales, ARC advisory group director of the Logistics Executive Council. "This information allows them to manage their operations based on what's actually happening, as opposed to what was originally planned. It also allows them to extend business processes down to 'the last mile' of the fulfillment process by enabling drivers and field workers to initiate workflows and respond to exceptions in a timely manner. This bundled offering from Intermec, Cheetah Software, and AT&T provides fleet operators with a 'one stop shop' solution that promises to simplify and expedite the deployment process."
