Nanomix Announces Award of $1M Grant From Department of Homeland Security

Nanomix Sensation platform enables detection of a broad array of chemical and bio molecules.

Nanomix Inc., a nanoelectronic detection company commercializing high-value diagnostic and monitoring applications, has received a $1 million project grant from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Nanomix grant will cover a three year period and will be developed in cooperation with the Naval Research Laboratories. For security reasons the scope of the project will not be disclosed.

The Nanomix Sensation platform enables detection of a broad array of chemical and bio molecules. It has high specificity and reproducibility, operates at room temperature, consumes little power, and permits both wireless integration and simple deployment.

Nanomix's nanoelectronic detection technology allows for scaleable devices use ultra-sensitive carbon nanotube detection elements combined with proprietary chemistries. They can be deployed across a broad range of industrial and medical applications where valuable attributes -- low power consumption, small size, and high sensitivity offer significant performance advantages and enable unprecedented access to critical information. Nanomix is located in Emeryville, California.
