Proxim Wireless Licenses WiMAX Technology to CPqD

Proxim Wireless Corporation, a provider for end-to-end Wi-Fi Mesh, WiMAX, WLAN and wireless backhaul systems has entered a master technology licensing agreement with CPqD that will make Proxim's WiMAX technology available for manufacture in Brazil, resulting in products tailored specifically to the Latin American market. This is expected to increasing the growth of WiMAX broadband connectivity throughout the region. According to market research firm Maravedis, the total accumulated equipment market size for BWA/WiMAX in Brazil will represent US$300 million by 2010.
