SOHOware Announces General Availability of Its AeroMesh Wireless Mesh Solution

Seamless indoor-outdoor mesh supports voice over Wi-Fi, wireless IP video surveillance and Wi-Fi cellular convergence.

SOHOware, Inc. has launched AeroMesh Solution, a unified in-building and outdoor integrated enterprise Wireless LAN for killer applications such as wireless voice over IP or voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi), IP video Surveillance and Fixed Mobile convergence (FMC).

"AeroMesh delivers breakthrough distributed layer 3 routing capability with rapid convergence algorithm and Cross Layer QoS," says Mike Mo, SOHOware VP of engineering, continuing, "features necessary to support Wi-Fi enabled business applications, such as IP surveillance, active RFID, mobile healthcare, inventory management, retail point of sale, guest access and location services, wireless MDU/MTU multi building campus and branch offices, and dual mode Wi-Fi and Cellular phones over unified indoor-outdoor wireless mesh."

Ashok Kumar, SOHOware's chief marketing officer and VP of business development, says, "Yesterday's mesh solutions create inadequate WLAN islands unable to support wireless VoIP and Wi-Fi to Cellular convergence demanded by Wi-Fi enabled clients such as iPhone. AeroMesh(TM) meets this challenge with unprecedented gain in productivity and customer satisfaction at the lowest total cost of ownership."

Two years ago, SOHOware launched the world's first indoor MIMO mesh using Airgo's True MIMO technology, now acquired by Qualcomm. Now it offers the world's first layer 3 routing TrueMesh creating a scalable and unified indoor-outdoor wireless mesh that is managed by a single management appliance and that can migrate to the 802.11n and WiMAX standard.

AeroMesh components, an outdoor node WMS4500, an in-building node WMS4300, and the management appliance WMS8000-NMS are listed at $3,900, $1,495 and $7,500 respectively.
