The pandemic facts are in their favor. Case rates are falling steeply and so are hospitalizations. Deaths will likely remain high for another few weeks as the death count lags the other reductions in numbers.
Spring and summer are coming and people will be spending more time outside, which makes for a much safer environment for people to interact within.
The issue of schools and masks remains all over the place. Some states are reducing mask mandates for indoor events but are keeping the mask mandate in place for schools, due to low vaccination rates for certain age groups.
All the above being true, I still ascribe to the unpredictability of the virus and its past permutations that have continued to throw all of us curve balls. With pitchers and catchers now returning to spring training, I'm just wondering if there is COVID knuckleballer out there somewhere—and, it is headed our way.
