Kelly Discount, a graduate student doing work on emergency management leadership styles has the following request. Why not take 15 minutes and help her and our profession out?
You are invited to participate in a directed research project examining leadership styles in the field of emergency management (EM). This research project is significant to EM officials at the local, state, and federal levels of government in helping to identify an expanded set of leadership styles, and their application to specific phases in the EM lifecycle.
If you agree to participate, you will be asked to complete a brief anonymous survey online consisting of questions about your experience with various leadership styles, the phases of emergency management, and if you have experienced burnout while working in the EM field. I understand the value of your time, and have designed the survey to take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
It is my hope that the outcomes of the research will help improve training programs and provide useful resources for leaders across all levels of government in our evolving field of practice. If you would like to participate, please complete the survey here by March 6, 2009. The results of this research will be stronger and more useful with each additional survey response. Please consider forwarding this message to other colleagues you think would be interested in participating.
If you have questions concerning this project or would like information on the results, please feel free to contact me at EMLeadership@gmail.com or (703) 725-7853. Thank you for your consideration in participation.
