An Update on the Coronavirus

China is "all in" and finger-pointing begins.

China's experience with the 2003 SARS outbreak has colored much of what they are doing today and how the population is reacting to the current coronavirus. I think this is especially true of Hong Kong where the population feels that they were lied to in the SARS outbreak.

The news item below covers multiple perspectives on the new disease. While the number of people infected is still growing, the death rate of infected persons is not significantly greater or even less than other well-documented respiratory illnesses.

Coronavirus infections predicted to grow exponentially; first death outside China; outbreak becomes political.
