Book: In the Dark of War

It is not about the book, it is about the author.

The old, traditional emergency management staff feeder programs of fire, police and the military is becoming much more diverse in recent years -- which is a good thing. We have an entirely new crop of college-educated emergency managers coming into the profession. And then there are still some outliers like "the CIA" contributing staff.

Which brings me to Sarah Carlson, who authored a new book, In the Dark of War, which is available on Amazon. Today, Sarah works at Pierce County Emergency Management in Washington state and is their Operations Officer.

Writing a book is something I've always aspired to -- but have not committed the time and effort (as Sarah did) to accomplish the task.

Having talented people from all walks of life and with more diversity in background, ethnicity and culture is what we want!
