Some good stats that puts the coronavirus in perspective.

This link addresses the perception of risk and also puts the current stats on mortality for the Coronavirus 2019-nCoV in perspective, see An epidemic of fear and misinformation.

The points he makes on how science doesn't have the same credibility and the impacts of other diseases on the population and mortality/death rates is good information. The other night I watched a tearful mother weeping over the loss of her 16-year-old healthy daughter to this year's flu. The saddest part (not mentioned by the mother) is that the daughter had not gotten a flu shot.
