COVID-19: The Race to Beat the Variants

There was an excellent CNN article recently on the status of the Biden administration's efforts to try and surge private, public and military resources to have the maximum impact before the coronavirus variants become dominant in the United States: "White House races to blunt potential Covid-19 surge."

It is not just about the vaccines, but the vaccinations themselves. We have been short on vaccines up to this point, but now there is an expectation that there may be more vaccines available than there are vaccination sites and personnel to take advantage of the vaccine supply that is surging. This, then, is a priority for the administration along with trying to blunt the "open for business" strategy of some states. That is what I call spiking the football before crossing the goal line.
