Cybersecurity Actions to Take in Response to Iran Crisis

CISA to the rescue!

With the increased possibility of Iranian cyberattacks on United States infrastructure, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is coming into prominence. 

What Does CISA Do? CISA is responsible for protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure from physical and cyberthreats. This mission requires effective coordination and collaboration among a broad spectrum of government and private-sector organizations.

See below for recommended cyberpreparedness actions to take: 

US-CERT also issued Alert AA20-006A: “Potential for Iranian Cyber Response.” CISA recommends organizations take the following actions:

  1. Adopt a state of heightened awareness;
  2. Increase organizational vigilance;
  3. Confirm reporting processes; and
  4. Exercise organizations incident response plans.
