DHS Secretary on the Move

We don't hear much from the DHS secretary.

Looks like he is getting out of D.C. which is probably a good thing for him and the agency. An old elected official's trick when disasters happen and things are going poorly is BOOT (Be Out Of Town).

See his itinerary for next week below:

Acting Secretary Wolf Traveling to Florida

WASHINGTON – On, June 8th, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad F. Wolf will travel to Ft Lauderdale, Florida to visit the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Hurricane Center, where he will tour the facility and participate in a briefing to discuss operational readiness for the upcoming hurricane season. Later that day, the Acting Secretary will visit Miami International Airport, where he will meet with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CPB) personnel and tour the CBP International Mail Facility.

On June 9th, the Acting Secretary will visit Port Everglades, Florida where he will tour the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Cutter JAMES and meet with Coast Guard personnel to discuss the critical role that DHS and USCG play in combating international drug cartels through counter-narcotics operations. Following the event, the Acting Secretary will return to DC.
