New Website Coming for Emergency Management Magazine

I'm looking forward to what it will look like and how it will function.

Just this past week I saw an email saying that the new revised, improved, updated and shall I say "Web sexy" website for Emergency Management magazine is expected to be rolled out soon -- maybe even by the end of this week.

I expect that it will have a similar look and feel to the other e.Republic websites that have already gone through their transformations. Check out Governing and Government Technology for good examples.

One of the features I'm looking forward to is having digital links to each article in the print edition. That way when you read something you want to share, you will easily be able to do that digitally.

I also confirmed that the next edition of the print Emergency Management magazine will transition my usual "Eric's Corner" column to be retitled "Disaster Zone" to match the name of this blog.

Eric Holdeman is a contributing writer for Emergency Management magazine and is the former director of the King County, Wash., Office of Emergency Management.
